The automatic gfortran performance tester
On this page, results are posted to track the performance of the gcc compiler for typical CP2K runs.
gfortran, as available in the latest gcc version (svn trunk, mainline of that particular night) is used for compiling a fixed version of CP2K.
Two benchmarks are run every night with the corresponding svn version of gcc.
If the results are correct, the timings are collected and posted.
While the machine used for benchmarking is typically idle, it is not dedicated, and some noise could be present in the results.
Results
Smaller numbers are better, missing data indicates failed builds (of either gcc or CP2K), or wrong results.

Details
CP2K is currently compiled using '-O3 -ffast-math -funroll-loops -ftree-vectorize -march=native -ffree-form -g -D__GFORTRAN -D__FFTSG' and linked against mkl (9.1.006). Benchmarks are executed five times, and the best of 5 runs is reported. The exact version of CP2K, benchmark and arch file is available for download, together with the script used for building/running gcc. Note that the latest version of CP2K is available from the CP2K homepage. The reference timings are gcc 4.3.0 (release) and ifort 9.1 20060707.
